Senior Safeguarding Officer (038/2324)

Salary: £28,214 to £29,937 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience) 37 hours per week.

An exciting opportunity to join the college’s safeguarding team as the Senior Safeguarding Officer, to further develop and strengthen the safeguarding provision at Coventry College.

Whose main purpose will be to:

Provide a high quality, responsive service to Learners faced with safeguarding issues, in accordance with statutory responsibilities and making referrals to appropriate agencies when required. In addition, will Support the Safeguarding Manager within the safeguarding team by acting as one of the primary contact points for staff who have concerns about learners.

To triage, manage and monitor safeguarding referrals through CPOMS ensuring interventions are timely and responsive, in line with child protection legislation and statutory guidance; Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE). Use College information systems (including ProSolution and Promonitor) to maintain accurate records of all interactions and interventions.

Under the guidance of the college’s Safeguarding Manager, manage a caseload of/and be responsible for at risk learners, prepare and support Learners to fully participate and succeed in training and education programmes to enable them to compete in the global marketplace and maximise their success in their future working lives.

Promote and establish good attendance, by working with college tutors/lecturers, parents, carers, professionals and young people to reduce and remove barriers to learning and progress. Contribute to the planning and implementation of multi-agency approaches and support that promote positive outcomes.

Contribute to the College strategy to ensure that learners achieve their potential and progress positively by working in conjunction with the College’s Pastoral Manager on a raft of key safeguarding activities.
