The School

Calthorpe Park School is a highly successful place to learn and grow. The school is in an exciting phase of ongoing development as its numbers increase year on year within the context of outstanding standards of care and expectation. The school’s projected growth over a number of years creates many ongoing opportunities for staff to develop, enhance and advance their careers within the same institution.

We pride ourselves on the excellence of our exam results but our ethos is to support all students to have the opportunity to succeed and the experience of success in a culture of care and consideration; challenge and commitment; respect and responsibility; integrity and impression. These four are the tenets of ‘The Calthorpe Way’. We aim to educate the whole child for the whole of their life: no ceilings or parameters; aspiring to excellence in everything we do.

Our centralised disruption free learning behaviour policy insures calm and purposeful lessons for all our students and teachers.

Job/Person Summary

We wish to employ an enthusiastic, ambitious and dynamic Drama teacher for this outstanding department. Starting 1 September 2024 (or earlier if available).

The Drama department radiates a feeling of belonging and the importance of the Arts across the school; this is evident in the range of extra-curricular activities which are undertaken by such large numbers of students. We currently offer a breadth of extra-curricular opportunities such as trips to the Theatre, a Drama Club, our Student-Led Pantomime and our highly acclaimed Whole School Productions, which is often described as one of the school’s greatest accolades. Last year we staged ‘Legally Blonde’, which included a large company of over 120 students. We strive for success in all we do, mirroring this in our practice every day. We have a loyalty to our students and energy to nurture and develop talent; investing time to do this is one of our highest priorities.

Experienced teachers or ECT teachers are welcome to apply.

Prior to interview, an online search will be conducted to identify any past or current incidents or issues that might affect your suitability to work with children and undertake this role. Please note this online search will be carried out only on publicly available information and be limited to issues relating to your suitability to work with children and/or in a school environment.
