n the top 12% of schools nationally, Crown Hills Community College blends a 70-year history of inclusive education with an innovative, forward-looking approach to providing a state education like no other to 1,500 students from inner-city backgrounds.

Due to a merging of the Leicester East and West School Sport Partnerships, and an ambitious restructuring and recruitment programme, the opportunity for a School Games Organiser position has arisen. This post is full-time, term-time only, and permanent. As a staff member of Crown Hills Community College you will receive a number of further benefits, these include a dedicated SSPAN office space, work laptop, work mobile phone, continual professional development, ‘Health Shield’ Health Insurance, no emails at the weekend or after 8pm and during holidays, administrative support, 24 hours a day/365 days a year phone counselling service, and a Cycle to Work Scheme.

The SSPAN is divided into the 6 key delivery strands of Inclusion, High Quality Competition, Leadership, Health & Wellbeing, Community Engagement and High Quality Physical Education. The successful candidate will have a prominent role in delivering high quality competition to all age groups, and in supporting all other areas of school sport and leadership provision. You will work closely with the Assistant School Sport & Competiton Manager to ensure that the School Games and Competition programme is delivered to the highest standards, and meets the needs of the diverse range of young people in Leicester City. Our aim is to ensure that there are opportunities for every child and young person to have fun, develop their physical & social skills, and to challenge themselves in achieving their personal best through physical education and sport.

What we are building in the Leicester City SSPAN is truly unique; there is no blueprint that we are following, and we are one of the few partnerships in the country to have a vision so ambitious and all-encompassing. Our aim is to go beyond school sport, and to have a positive impact on the young people in Leicester, their families and their communities.

To be successful, you will possess a proven record of providing meaningful opportunities for high quality school sports provision, and bringing the best out of young people. Outstanding communication skills and the personal authority to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and other stakeholders are essential, as is a deep commitment to the aims and values of Crown Hills CC and the SSPAN.

This role will suit professionals with a high level of personal credibility who can demonstrable experience in sports development, event management and working with children and young people, ideally in an education setting.

How we lead is as important as the direction we are taking staff in. You need to have the emotional intelligence to deal with sensitive matters with clarity as well as trusting those around you to deliver and, when needed, have tough love conversations to improve delivery. We have 127 primary, secondary and special schools in the SSPAN and making strong professional relationships with a variety of groups of people in a dynamic environment is paramount, and a key part of the role.

You will see from our website that our three key values permeate all that we do and have allowed us to grow from strength to strength:

Aspiration - Be the best you can be

Commitment - Do what it takes for as long as it takes

Success - Be ready to take on the world

As Principal, it has always been my philosophy to grow and nurture new talent so that we create the next generation of leaders, it is something that I have done throughout my career, and this role will support the successful individual on their journey.

We are looking for the role to start as soon as possible in the new academic year 2021/22 to support the ambitious development of the SSPAN.

We have organised an information evening via TEAMS, please contact my PA Jo Amey by email to confirm your attendance:

    Information Evening – Thursday 8th July 2021 - 5.00pm.

It is highly recommended that you attend this evening. A recording will be made available should you require it.

If, after the information evening you require further information, please contact Assistant Principal, Ian O'Flynn.

Deadline for applicants is 9am, Monday 2nd August 2021 to Jo Amey

Interviews will be held in the week beginning 30th August 2021.

Yours sincerely,

Mr F Adam

(Principal)
