The Employability & Skills Training Department is looking for experienced tutors to join our growing team of Distance Learning Tutors to assess and mark learner’s work. You will draw on your own occupational experience to support learners of different abilities to achieve a national recognised qualification. The department delivers Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in 1) Children & Education, 2) Health and Social Care, 3) Retail & Hospitality and 4) Business, Leadership & Management.

You will be required to Access learner’s work via an online learning platform, assess submitted work and provide robust and development written feedback within an agreed time frame.

You must have a minimum Level 3 Teaching Qualification and a Level 2 in English and Maths. You must have experience of working within a role related to the industries associated with your area (including carrying out at least 20 hours industry specific CPD per year).

Responsibilities include:
•    Undertake summative and formative assessments as required and provide constructive and developmental feedback.
•    Liaise with the Curriculum Team Manager and Lead IQA’s to support learners’ timely achievements.
•    Undertake regular progress reviews with the learners in line with college requirements.
•    To maintain effective and regular communications with learners and respond to support needs in a timely manner to ensure they remain on track to complete within pre-determined timeframes.
•    Attend IQA and Standardisation Meetings where required to do so, to ensure that the curriculum meets the requirements of validating and awarding bodies.
•    Carry exit reviews and record progression and record next steps
