Highly Skilled SEND learning Support Worker needed

We are seeking to recruit six enthusiastic, resilient support staff with excellent interpersonal skills. These posts will be to support young people who are attending college 3 to 4 days a week as part of the Pathway to Adulthood four-day programme which is run at the College and Waddon Youth Centre. You may be working 1.1, with other support workers with individual students or with groups of learners.

You will need experience of and a high level of commitment to working with young people with a range of complex special education needs, including those with autism, health, physical, emotional and behavioural support needs. You will need to be an excellent support worker that can develop a thorough understanding of individuals and that can deliver personalised learning programmes, using strategies that empower and support individual students to develop their social skills and independence towards adulthood. You need to have excellent communication and organisational skills so that you can work with the class teams, parents/carers and other professionals, provide constructive feedback and keep clear records of support and progress.

You will also need to have a positive approach and a commitment to providing the best quality experiences for young people with complex needs.

These posts will be based at Coulsdon College but you may be required to work at Croydon College as part of your timetable and may be based at either College in future years as we further develop provision.
