The pathway Centre is a Bespoke provision for students aged 19-25. Students who attend the provision have a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). These are Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). Most of the students have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The Pathway Centre is ethnically and culturally diverse and our curriculum and delivery leads to excellent outcomes across a range of areas, all staff are provided with training and there are career development opportunities available.

We have an opportunity for an experience Occupational Therapist to join our team. You will have delivered a Therapy Service within an educational setting and be skilled at working effectively, training others and being part of a multi-disciplinary team. You should be a creative Therapist who is highly motivated, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You should also be a confident and skilled practitioner and you will also need to have a positive approach and a commitment to providing the best quality experiences for young people with complex needs.

You will deliver a specialist Occupational Therapy (OT) service to the students, working closely within a team of colleagues of all disciplines. You will monitor, evaluate and modify intervention in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of the interventions delivered. You will be delivering Sensory Integration to students with sensory needs. You will work alongside the team to meet additional demand presented by the students.

A commitment to the belief that all students can do and learn, whatever their disabilities, is an essential requirement for this post. Experience and/or knowledge of working with young people who have Special Educational Needs is essential.

This post will be based at Coulsdon College but you may be required to work at Croydon College as part of your timetable and may be based at either College in future years as we further develop provision.
