The Role:
This is a unique opportunity to take the helm of a thriving and exceptionally well-resourced Art and 3D Design department at one of the country’s most forward-thinking independent girls’ schools. Croydon High is seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Department who will foster a culture of creativity, excellence and exploration—helping our students to realise their full artistic potential and pursue diverse and exciting futures.
You will lead an innovative and successful department with a broad, ambitious curriculum spanning Fine Art, Textiles, Ceramics, Photography, and 3D Design. From traditional techniques to cutting-edge CAD and digital media, students benefit from outstanding facilities and a rich programme of enrichment, including masterclasses with professional artists and close collaboration with institutions like The Royal Academy of Arts. Our pupils’ creative work is routinely praised by examiners and many go on to secure places at top art colleges and universities.
This role is perfect for a passionate educator with strong leadership skills, proven success teaching Art and 3D Design up to A Level, and a commitment to nurturing both students and staff. You’ll bring artistic flair, sound curriculum knowledge and an inclusive, energetic approach to shaping the strategic direction of the department. Whether you're an experienced Head of Department or ready to take the next step, you'll find real purpose and professional growth in this role.
