Somerfords Walter Powell C of E Primary School is a small friendly village Primary School serving Little Somerford, Great Somerford and the surrounding area.
We are currently looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly, talented staff team dedicated to improving outcomes for children in a school with a friendly and supportive ethos and to support SEN needs.
The position is for 28:75 hours per week, term time only
Salary : Wilts Grade D - £18,329 - £19,283 (pro rata) £11,832 - £12,448 (actual)
The successful candidate will have :
- At least 1 years’ experience of working effectively in a learning / child care setting
- GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent) in English & Maths, plus at least three other academic subjects
- Skills of empathy, listening, communication and responding with appropriate language to build rapport with children from a variety of ages, abilities and backgrounds.
- Experience of working with children who have ASD
- Aptitude to develop a knowledge of the role within an education environment
- Flexible, adaptable and positive attitude to working in a structured environment
- Communication skills to promote and develop effective working with pupils and colleagues
