The Chef will provide a high quality of catering provision to students/staff and visitors to the academy. They will be responsible for preparation, cooking and service of quality hot and cold food/beverages. The postholder will be expected to work with students at times supporting their experience at the academy.
This role is required to work independently to complete all aspects of food preparation and service within an academy. Postholder must be comfortable working alone and able to motivate themselves without direct supervision. At all times, the post holder will be expected to work collaboratively with relevant colleagues to fulfil the requirements of the role and contribute positively to the effective running of the catering function within the academy.
About you:
- Have an understanding of the working conditions within a busy kitchen environment.
- Evidence of formal training in areas such as COSHH, HACCP, Food Hygiene, Manual Handling.
- Experience of catering for in an educational environment and/or functions such as weddings, buffets, etc.
- Experience of supervising a catering team.
- Good standards of hygiene.
- Patient, calm and works well under pressure.

About Snowdon Village:
Snowdon Village is a multi-site, cross-phase alternative provision that sits within the heart of the CLF. The Snowdon Village sites include The Nest, Engage, Bristol Futures Academy and City School.
Our primary aim is to meet the needs of children and young adults who have social, emotional and mental health issues by offering a suite of alternatives to mainstream school. Members of Snowdon Village may engage with the provision in a variety of ways, from long-term residential care to short-term, part-time alternatives which complement their existing school experience.
