Ysgol Dyffryn Aman is a thriving, successful Category 2B bilingual secondary school, located at the edge of the Brecon Beacons in Carmarthenshire. We are an 11-19 school, showing healthy growth in pupil numbers in recent years, educating approximately 1500 pupils in total, with over 200 within our dynamic sixth form.

About the role

This is an incredibly exciting and important time for education provision in Ysgol Dyffryn Aman and we hope that you will wish to be part of this wonderful opportunity for our students. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach all areas of the curriculum including examination classes in BTEC Sport L2/L3, GCSE PE and A-level PE. Provision at KS3, GCSE PE and A-Level PE is delivered in both Welsh & English. The department is currently developing an innovative approach to elements of the health and well-being area of learning in line with the new curriculum for Wales. There will also be exciting opportunities to deliver lessons within the broader area of learning experience, which may include opportunities to teach within our exciting REACH curriculum area.

The successful candidate is expected to:

Be an enthusiastic subject specialist, consistently delivering excellent lessons

Be confident in delivering lessons through the medium of Welsh

Have had experience teaching examination PE through the medium of Welsh
