FULL TIME ON LINE TEACHER
On-line Learning Partnership – across 9 Secondary Schools
Full time commencing 1st September 2025 – 31st August 2026
Temporary in the first instance
In 2023 Wales’ first on-line school provision was established by 5 schools: Dylan Thomas Community School; Birchgrove Comprehensive School; Pentrehafod School; Ysgol Cwm Brombil School and Ysgol Coedcae School. The success of this provision has lead to its expansion to 9 schools commencing September 2025 to include: Queen Elizabeth High; Ysgol Dyffryn Aman; Pontarddulais Comprehensive School; Penyrheol Comprehensive School and Bryngwyn School
The schools involved have recognised the challenges some of their pupils encounter in terms of school related anxieties and phobias. These pupils deserve the same learning experiences as those who physically attend school and as such this innovative, collaborative approach will best address this.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified teacher to join the partnership to work remotely with small groups of pupils across the ten schools. We are seeking a passionate and self driven educator with an ability to inspire and motivate pupils and who is keen to elevate student attainment in Maths/Science and any additional subjects that the successful candidate can offer.
Working mainly from home, although the ability to drive is essential, you will have previous experience or knowledge of teaching through an on-line platform with the added benefits of access to the collaboration’s resources as well as physical classrooms when needed.
Applicants will construct a suitable timetable that uses innovative techniques to engage the pupils and deliver well planned lessons as well as employing strategies to monitor and assess pupils progress on-line in preparation for examinations. Relevant learning resources and qualifications will be provided for the postholder. A knowledge of the Welsh language is desirable.
Furthermore you will have a genuine commitment to the safeguarding of pupils fostering positive relationships with parents and carers. The successful candidate will focus on making improvements in attendance and re-engaging pupils back into mainstream schooling with the support of a designated learning coach from each school.
