In our February 2024 Inspection, Estyn stated that “Staff at Dylan Thomas Community School offer pupils a consistently high quality of Care, Support & Guidance. The school has an inclusive family feel and there are strong relationships between pupils and staff”
Governors are seeking to appoint an innovative, talented, enthusiastic and committed skills coach to join our popular and hard working skills team. The post holder’s role will be to work with individual and small groups of children to improve the standards of their numeracy under the guidance of the Head of Maths and the Skills Centre Co-ordinator
The literacy and numeracy needs of the pupils are often fragile, and the ability to create effective, encouraging relationships with pupils, combined with a confident understanding of numeracy development is essential. Key data will be recorded upon their attainment, progress, achievement, targets and comparative progress. All aspects of numeracy will be addressed dependant on the identified needs of individual pupils. Applications should possess excellent numeracy and ICT skills.
