An exciting opportunity for an experienced SENCO to join our dedicated and dynamic team of educators, leading and co-ordinating provision for Resource Bases within two of our Primary schools.

Contract: 0.8 permanent

Salary: MPS / UPS + SEN ALLOWANCE + TLR

To start: 1st January 2024 (or sooner if possible)

Diocese of Bristol Academies Trust (DBAT) aims to provide an outstanding education for all pupils which enables every pupil to flourish. In order to support pupils with the highest level of need, DBAT has two specialist Resource Bases: one in Easton CE Academy and one in Fishponds Academy. Both Resource Bases support children with severe speech, language and communication needs with the majority of each cohort having an autism diagnosis. Fishponds Specialist Resource Base opened in October 2022 and Easton Specialist Resource Base will open in January 2024.

DBAT is looking for an enthusiastic, skilled SENCO who has experience of working with children who have high level speech, language and communication needs including autism, and who will lead and co-ordinate Resource Base provision in these two primary settings. Under the line management of the Trust DEI Lead, the Resource Base SENCO will work in partnership with the school SENCOs as well as with senior leaders in each school.

DBAT is a trust whose academies are committed to making a difference to the lives of learners by providing high quality inclusive teaching and learning, and where every learner is seen as an individual who has the potential to thrive. The right candidate will be driven by this belief and so will lead and coordinate SEND provision in the Resource Bases to enable every learner to have high quality educational provision that will enable their success.

Someone who is skilled at delivering training to staff.

A SENCO with a positive, resourceful and forward-thinking outlook.

Someone with the ability to prioritise, plan time and organise themselves effectively.

Experience of using a trauma-informed approach in teaching and learning

We can offer you:

A multi-academy trust that is driven by its vision to enable everyone to thrive

A kind, supportive team where everyone is valued

A high quality, well-resourced learning environment with Resource Bases in the early stages of development and where there is an opportunity to influence and shape their future growth

Fantastic children, families, staff and academy councillors
