Curriculum Leader of Welsh
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, enthusiastic and highly effective practitioner to lead Welsh at a key point in the school’s development. We are seeking an inspirational middle leader who is passionate about improving pupils’ confidence, enjoyment and achievement in Welsh and who will promote the language and culture of Wales throughout our 3–16 learning community.
Ebbw Fawr Learning Community is a thriving all-age school that proudly serves the children, families and wider community of Ebbw Vale. Our primary and secondary phases operate across two sites, providing a unique opportunity to develop a coherent approach to learning and progression from the earliest years through to the end of Key Stage 4.
We are proud to have achieved the Siarter Iath Cymraeg Campus Gold Award and are looking for a leader who will build on this success, embedding Cymraeg even more strongly across the curriculum and the wider life of the school. The successful candidate will provide clear and purposeful leadership for the Welsh department. They will be expected to maintain high expectations, secure consistently strong teaching, improve learner outcomes and ensure that the curriculum is engaging, progressive and responsive to the needs of all pupils.
The role will include leading the ongoing development of the Welsh curriculum, supporting colleagues to improve their practice and using a range of evidence to evaluate the quality and impact of teaching and learning. The successful candidate will be confident in monitoring standards, analysing pupil progress and identifying the actions needed to secure further improvement.
The closing date for applications is Monday 13 July at 3.00pm. Interviews will take place on Wednesday 15 July.
Ebbw Fawr Learning Community is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
