Job Description

Aim: To provide academic tuition to a learner in Year 11
Location: At the learner's home in High Wycombe
Frequency: 13 hours per week. Monday to Friday. Flexible
Duration: November 2025 to July 2026

Extra Info: Not suitable for online tutoring. Experience and understanding of supporting students within the youth justice system would be advantageous for this role as well as supporting learners with SEMH and PDA is essential. Need an experienced functional skills or GCSE tutor. Learner has been in Independent Special Schools and is now being tutored 1-1 in order to help get them into college.

Role expectations:

  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate SEMH needs
  • Plan sessions in advance and maintain consistency, while remaining responsive to the learner’s mood and engagement levels
  • Deliver structured, engaging and flexible sessions in English and Maths tailored to GCSE curriculums

  • Trauma-informed teaching approach
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
  • Self-employed status and right to work in the UK
