SEN tutor needed in Bracknell to support a learner that presents with PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal infections), which can result in sudden onset or fluctuating symptoms such as anxiety, OCD behaviours, emotional dysregulation and changes in cognitive functioning. Presentation may vary day to day, and engagement levels can be unpredictable.

Sessions should be low-demand, calm and highly flexible, with a strong focus on emotional safety and co-regulation. Learning should be interest-led and adapted to the learner’s capacity in the moment, with the ability to pause, reduce demand or shift focus as needed.

The tutor should prioritise building a trusting relationship, maintaining consistent routines and responding sensitively to changes in presentation. Academic work should be delivered in small, manageable steps, with the emphasis on sustaining engagement and confidence rather than pace or volume. A patient, experienced tutor with strong understanding of SEMH and fluctuating needs is essential.
