We are seeking a dedicated and experienced leader to join our senior leadership team as Assistant Headteacher. This is a non-teaching role offered on a part-time basis (4 days per week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday). The position has become available following the retirement of our long-standing Assistant Headteacher, who has played a pivotal role in the development of our school.

We are looking for an individual with a proven track record of driving school improvement, supporting staff development, and ensuring the highest standards of pastoral and academic provision. As the school’s SENDCO and lead for inclusion and safeguarding, the successful candidate will have extensive experience and play a crucial role in ensuring that our policies, culture, and daily practice meet the needs of all children, especially the most vulnerable. Above all, we are seeking someone who champions every child, placing their wellbeing, safety, learning, development, and success at the heart of every decision.

We are looking for someone who:

• Will play an active part pf the SLT and contribute to setting strategic direction of the school
• Establish and implement an ambitious vision and ethos for the future of the school In partnership with the headteacher and governors
• Has extensive knowledge and experience of the role of the SENDCo, ensuring that relevent policies are updated and implemented across the school
• Will undertake the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead including all roles and responsibilities outlined in the DSL job description
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to promote positive relationships with staff, professionals and our school community alike
• Be an excellent role model for children and staff and assist in embedding a values ethos throughout the school
• Wants to make a difference to our children and families, and go above and beyond
• Will have a visible presence within our school community
