Embrace Multi Academy Trust are seeking to appoint to a new role of Chief Improvement Officer (Secondary / Professional Learning).  This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to take on this newly created and strategically significant role within our Executive Team, with direct responsibility for the quality of education across our secondary schools and for bringing our vision for professional learning to life.  We are seeking a leader with courage, credibility and wisdom, a team player who leads with heart, sets high expectations and brings a positive, proactive and innovative approach to their work. You’ll be someone who is not afraid to get stuck in, who builds trust through collaboration, and who inspires others to grow and thrive.  You will join a small but strong School Improvement Team, expertly led by our Chief Education Officer, and work closely with our Education Leadership Team to shape and deliver our education strategy.

Why Embrace?

• We offer the opportunity to be part of a cohesive, friendly and skilled team.

• We value all members of staff alongside professional and supportive staff relationships.

• We have a focus on staff wellbeing and provide access to wellbeing support services and employee discount schemes. We have flexible working opportunities.

• We support professional development to develop your skills and knowledge.

Why you?

• You have the drive, passion and purpose to lead with integrity and vision.

• You have demonstrable deep expertise in secondary education and professional development.

• You have commitment to partnership working across our schools and with external stakeholders.

• You  are someone who can drive improvement, support leadership development, and ensure our schools deliver high-quality, inclusive education.

Embrace Multi Academy Trust was established in 2019 and has grown to ten schools, including eight primaries and two secondaries. Our vision is for every child to experience ‘life in all its fullness’ (John 10:10), and our core purpose of ‘Learning for Life’ underpins all that we do.  We are proud to be an inclusive Trust, bringing together Church of England and community schools in a way that reflects and celebrates the diversity of our local communities. We value individuality and believe in nurturing the unique strengths of each school, each pupil, and each member of staff.

Closing date for applications: 1 December 2025 @ 9am.

Interviews to be held: 8 & 9 December 2025.

We warmly encourage potential applicants to arrange an informal meeting or conversation with Paula Jones, Trust Leader, before submitting an application.  This provides an opportunity to find out more about our Trust, our values and our ambitions for this role. An opportunity to visit Embrace is also available on Wednesday 19 November.

The post is considered to be regulated activity and as such is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check. Additionally, applicants are to be aware that an overseas criminal record check, or certificate of good behaviour, will be required before appointment, from candidates who have lived overseas for a period of 3 months (including aggregated time) over the age of 16 in the previous 10 years.
