Start Date: 01/09/2025

Salary: Grade 11, £24,790 - £25,183 FTE per annum (Actual Salary based on weeks worked and hours: £13,399.99 - £13,612.43 p.a.)

Contract: Temporary to cover a period of long-term absence until the substantive post-holders return.

Hours: 20 hours per week (7:00am – 11:00am) Monday to Friday, All year round (52.143)

The Role:

We are looking for a flexible, hard-working and dedicated Caretaker to join our friendly team and work at the heart of our school.

As our School Caretaker, you will be a key member of the school team, working across the entire site to ensure our buildings and grounds are well-maintained, secure, and welcoming for pupils, staff, and visitors alike

The successful candidate will:

  •  Be passionate about making a difference to all children
  •  Have experience of undertaking basic maintenance and DIT to a high standard
  •  Ability to use a range of power tools and cleaning apparatus related to the role
  •  Knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace and the ability to identity hazards and other deficiencies
  •  Knowledge of working and safety practices of on-site contractors and other relevant persons
  •  Ability to establish good working relationships with work colleagues
  •  Positive, professional and keen to be part of a successful team
  •  Hardworking with a commitment to keeping the school site safe, secure and well maintained
  •  Ability to lift and move furniture and equipment and the ability to carry out various repair and maintenance activities
  •  Reliable, trustworthy, hardworking and friendly and able to work under own initiative
  •  Positive role model to staff and pupils
  •  Enthusiastic, flexible, a ‘can do’ approach together with a great sense of humour
  •  Be motivated to make a real difference to the life of the school

Fluency Duty 

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to converse at ease with pupils, parents and other users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
