Job Title: SEN Teacher

Are you an experienced SEN Teacher seeking a new opportunity? We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN teacher to join our team in Sutton, working closely with our SEN unit and collaborating with the SENDCO of the school.
Our school, part of an academy, is committed to supporting the complex needs of up to 150 pupils and students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCP) primarily diagnosed with Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN) and/or Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). Role Responsibilities:
Developing tailored learning programs for students with SEN
Planning, preparing, and researching engaging lessons
Adapting teaching materials to suit individual needs
Utilizing specialized facilities and equipment as needed
Assessing students' abilities and requirements
Creating Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for SEN students
Facilitating integration into mainstream classes for SEN students
Candidate Requirements:
Confidence, enthusiasm, and a hands-on approach to learning
Experience or interest in working with children with profound/complex Special Education Needs
Familiarity or commitment to using symbolized communication systems (AAC) to support language and learning
Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, teachers, parents, and carers
Ability to foster positive behaviour in a nurturing environment
Commitment to embracing outdoor learning
Knowledge and experience in supporting children with significant sensory integration difficulties
Passion for working with neurodivergent students
Teaching qualification is essential
Experience:
Previous experience working in an SEN setting is required.
This position requires in-person work.
