Job Title: SEN Teacher

Location: Epsom

Are you a dedicated SEN Teacher seeking a fulfilling role in Epsom? Join our team and make a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN). We are seeking an experienced SEN teacher to support our SEN unit and work closely with the SENDCO of our school.

From their beginnings at First Steps and Nursery through to preparing them for transition to KS3, our curriculum ensures they are ready for the next stage of their learning.

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

Develop tailored programmes of learning activities

Plan, prepare, and research lessons catered to individual needs

Adapt teaching materials to suit diverse learning styles

Assess students' abilities and needs, creating Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Facilitate integration of SEN students into mainstream classes

Utilize special facilities and equipment effectively

Foster positive behavior in a nurturing environment

Embrace outdoor learning opportunities

Support students with significant sensory integration difficulties

Implement symbolized communication systems (AAC) to enhance language and learning

Qualifications and Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess:

Confidence, enthusiasm, and a passion for hands-on learning

Experience and/or interest in working with children with profound/complex SEN

Ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, parents, and carers

Commitment to promoting positive behavior and inclusion

Teaching qualification

Knowledge and experience in supporting neurodivergent students

Experience:

Previous experience working in an SEN setting is essential.
