SEN English Teacher - January Start - Long Ditton
We are seeking a passionate and committed English Teacher who is looking to make a difference to the life chances of challenging and vulnerable students, wants to work in a dynamic, forward thinking school.
The Role Main Duties Teaching & Learning:
- To manage pupil learning through effective teaching in accordance with the Department’s schemes of work and policies.
- To work effectively as a member of the Department, learn to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
- To use positive management of behaviour in an environment of mutual respect which allows pupils to feel safe and secure and promotes their self esteem Monitoring, Assessment Recording, Reporting and Accountability
- To be immediately responsible for the processes of identification, assessment, recording and reporting for the pupils in their charge.
- To contribute towards the implementation of EHCPs as detailed in the current Code of Practice particularly the planning and recording of appropriate actions and outcomes related to set targets
- Keep an accurate register of pupils for each lesson. Unexplained absences or patterns of absence should be reported immediately in accordance with the School Policy. Welfare, Behaviour and Safeguarding
- Meet with parents and carers as part of maintaining positive relationships and the full implementation of the School’s values and ethos.
- To promote the School’s values, positive attitudes and good pupils behaviour, dealing promptly with conflicts and incidents in line with established policy and procedures, encouraging pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour.

- plan and prepare fun learning opportunities tailored to the individual needs of each child
- assess individual learning needs and work on a group and class basis.
- Must have a QTS
- Would need 2/3 years SEN experience.
The school
We have evolved into a full-time registered special school that offers one-to-one and small group tuition to able students who are not comfortable in an environment of large buildings, big classes and noise.
