About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Academic SEN Support Teacher to join our team at a prestigious school in Crowthorne. This role will initially be for a 4-week period, with the possibility of extension depending on the needs of the students and the school. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and a passion for helping students achieve their full academic potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Individualised Teaching and Support:
· Plan, deliver, and evaluate personalised teaching sessions tailored to the needs of pupils with SpLD.
· Employ evidence-based strategies and interventions to support literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas, where appropriate.
· Develop resources and tools to enable independent learning.
Assessment and Monitoring:
· Conduct formal and informal assessments to identify pupil needs and track progress in line with the College's procedures.
· Create and maintain Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), reviewing them regularly in collaboration with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
· Maintain detailed and accurate records of pupil progress and interventions.
Collaboration and Communication:
· Work closely with the SENDCo and teaching staff to provide advice and strategies for classroom differentiation.
· Liaise with parents, guardians, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to pupil support.
· Contribute to staff training to enhance understanding of SpLD and inclusive practices.
Promoting Inclusion:
· Advocate for pupils with learning differences, ensuring they have equal opportunities to participate fully in school life.
· Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment that promotes confidence, resilience, and independence.
Compliance and Safeguarding:
· Ensure compliance with school policies, particularly those relating to SEND provision and safeguarding.
· Stay updated with developments in SpLD support, SEND legislation, and best practices.
