Job Description
Full time academic and behavioural management coach/tutor/mentor/teacher needed to assist an adolescent male (moderate ADHD) in maximizing his potential within a hybrid instructional high school setting, in addition to offering academic support to elementary level students(siblings). The candidate needs to be ideally well read, and have an understanding of how the American High School core curriculum content (English Language, Mathematics, Biology, English, US History) is developed through well-organized online models.

The candidate needs to be: well-organized in creating a master schedule; flexible to adapt it to mainstream schooling; efficient in guiding the student to manage time and commit to online and on-campus courses; and adept at dealing with students with ADHD and behavior issues.

• Assess children’s skills and learning requirements
• Design Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) by setting clear targets for annual goals
• Collaborate with parents and school staff to track students’ progress
• Design and implement appropriate behavior management strategies

• Assess students’ abilities and craft teaching plans
• Adapt learning materials to students’ needs
• Keep track of and reflect on students’ progress
• Monitor students’ behavioral patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if needed
• Find engaging activities to teach skills
• Manage classroom crises and resolve conflict
• Prepare students for transition to the next grade
• Inform parents about their children’s performance and potential problems
• Collaborate with the teaching staff to create holistic intervention plans

• Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role
• Good knowledge of current special education topics and methodologies
• Experience working with children with learning difficulties (ADHD) with special attention to executive functioning,
• Ability to create IEPs
• A patient, resourceful, flexible, well-organized and resilient personality
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Valid state special education certificate
• BSc in Special Education; MSc is a plus
