Eteach are looking to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant for an Independent Special School and Children's home in the Royston area. This is a Full time Permanent position to start as soon as possible.

The School offer a specialist learning and residential environment for Children/Young Adults who have multiple disabilities, including complex medical needs, sensory and physical impairments between the ages of 6-19.

You will be working in a Team of Education, care and clinical staff working with students within the School are children’s home which have been designed and adapted to meet the needs of each individual student.

With your support provided, it enables the children/young adults to engage and progress at their own pace.

•You will be crucial in supporting students with their learning, development and progress in all areas of the curriculum within a range of learning contexts including the classroom, the local environment and within the community
•Helping young people with a range of needs, including PMLD, complex medical conditions and autism to achieve their educational and personal goals
•Supporting an environment that fosters equality, diversity and the rights of all young people to be seen as learners and be treated with respect
•Placing an emphasis on support and empowerment of young people
•Developing a greater understanding of disability issues and the values of Aurora and demonstrating these in the work
•Providing high quality support in all aspects of the work
•The role may require participation in physical intervention and personal care routines

•To be willing and able to work towards getting any relevant qualifications, attending training and to take responsibility for your own development.
•Be able to adapt your communication style and be able to develop skills to suit the needs of the children and young people you are working with
•Be able and willing to support students in the water during swimming or hydrotherapy activities
•Able to work supportively as a team member and confidentially when working independently, within a range of settings
•Able to understand, interpret and deliver effective education and care and support plans based on a needs led approach
