Hatchlands Primary School is seeking to appoint a passionate, committed, and forward-thinking leader to join our senior leadership team as Deputy Headteacher. This role will focus on driving curriculum development, assessment and ensuring consistently high-quality teaching and learning for all pupils.
The Deputy Headteacher is a key member of SLT, responsible for driving educational excellence and fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive.
Work Pattern: Full Time
Salary: L2- L7
Start date: September 2025
Contract type: Permanent
Reporting to: Headteacher / Governing Body
Responsible for: Middle Leadership Team and shared line management of class teachers

- Work in close partnership with the Headteacher to shape the school’s strategic direction and address key operational priorities.
- Champion staff professional development through evidence-based teaching practices and subject expertise.
- Lead the development and implementation of a broad, balanced, and ambitious curriculum
- Ensure consistently high standards of teaching and learning across all year groups.
- Lead on assessment strategies to monitor, evaluate, and enhance pupil progress and attainment.
- Develop robust, consistent, and meaningful assessment practices to identify and address learning gaps.
- Support teachers in using data to inform planning and teaching, enabling all pupils to reach their full potential.
- Occasionally undertake ad-hoc teaching responsibilities to meet school needs and stay connected with classroom practice.
