Term Time Only + 5 Training Days + 1 Week (to be worked during the school holidays, as designated by your line manager, including exam results day)

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Attendance and Admissions Officer to join the administration team. Featherstone High School is a friendly school that values teamwork and high achievement in all areas of our work with young people.

The main duties will include:

  • Maintain accurate student attendance and lateness records on the SIMS.Net Attendance Module daily.
  • Follow up student absences and lateness on a daily basis with guidance from relevant colleagues, making appropriate referrals.
  • To be the key person responsible for pupil admissions in accordance with the school admissions policy
  • Manage the procedures relating to pupil transfers in accordance with school policy.

Experience needed:

  • Excellent administrative and ICT skills, including attention to detail on data entry work, and the ability to multitask
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including a 'Can-do' attitude
  • Previous experience of working in a secondary school environment
  • SIMS experience (particularly Lesson Monitor) gained from working in a school, voluntarily or paid, as well as experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
