Our teaching assistant team is a vital part of our students’ success, working with students who have special educational needs to ensure that they fulfil their potential.
The successful candidate will bring relevant experience and expertise, but will also be willing to grow and develop with excellent support and training.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Act as key worker for identified groups of SEND students, providing all relevant support under the direction of the SENCO and Deputy SENCO.
- Accountability for ensuring support requirements identified in EHCPs and My Plans are met by the school.
- Responsibility for updating EHCPs and My Plans, in collaboration with students, families and staff.
- Planning and delivery of intervention sessions, with support from others.
Skills and Qualifications:
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalents) at grade C/grade 4 or above.
- Experience of working with young people.
- Knowledge of special educational needs and/or disabilities.
- Excellent quality of spoken and written communication.
- Builder and maintainer of positive, professional relationships with all.
