A SEND liaison officer will be an instrumental part of that journey in ensuring the voice of the young people and their families is heard and captured as part of their Annual Review Process. This role is supported by the Home School Link worker and a SEND Administrator. The role will also involve being part of a vibrant office team, who are pivotal in communicating with parents, liaising with specialists and providing support for medical and health needs.
The wide variety of needs will provide an excellent opportunity to gain experience from the young people and their families, to empower them to have the best possible future when they leave Fox Grove.
Recognising staff well-being is at the heart of our school, so staff can best support our young people and their families. This is supported by regular line manager meetings.
Professional development is of the upmost importance at Fox Grove. New knowledge is shared, and time is provided for staff to collaborate on what they have learnt and how this will impact on their everyday practice.
Fox Grove School are looking for a SEND liaison officer from a wide range of backgrounds:
• Experience of the world of SEND in a school, care or family support service
• Anyone who has a passion to ensure young people and their families have a voice in the complex world of SEND
• Anyone who is empathetic and willing to learn
Fox Grove will support your professional development to become a SEND liaison officer including:
• How to run Annual Reviews
• Tools to capture young people’s and their families voice
• Managing health and medical needs of young people
• Support from a psychologist
