HEAD OF DEPARTMENT for Digital – FULL TIME
We are seeking an ambitious and dynamic Head of Department for Digital to lead and develop our Digital provision to become a centre of excellence, in the high growth sectors of T Level Digital, Media, Esports, Games Design, IT and Computer Science.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator and leader to drive innovation, champion high-quality teaching and learning, and ensure that our curriculum reflects the latest industry trends and technological developments.
As Head of Department, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Digital curriculum area. You will lead a talented and dedicated team, cultivating a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement. Your role will involve curriculum planning, quality assurance, staff development, and budget/resource management, with a key focus on raising standards and student achievement
In addition to your leadership responsibilities, this role will encompass a significant teaching commitment. You will play a key part in delivering outstanding lessons across our Digital provision, modelling exemplary practice and ensuring consistency in teaching quality. Your teaching will be integral to shaping the student experience and fostering high levels of engagement and achievement.
We welcome applicants with a strong background in the Digital sector—whether through teaching or curriculum management—and a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams. You will be able to demonstrate effective use of teaching and learning strategies, data-informed decision-making, and the ability to inspire staff and students alike. Ideally, you’ll also have experience with enrichment activities and cross-college initiatives that promote digital literacy, engagement and innovation.
Salary for the post will be on the Sixth Form College teachers’ pay scale, depending on qualification and experience, within the range NSP 1 £32,178 to NSP 9 £49,725 FTE per annum, plus a responsibility allowance of up to £5,236 FTE per annum
