Family link worker and Deputy Safeguarding Lead
Salary Hay 8 £32,597 to £35,412 - actual salary - £16200.
Hours 25 hours per week - 8.30am – 1.30am Monday – Friday including 2 inset days, term time only

Are you passionate about breaking down barriers to education? Do you have the empathy to support families in crisis and the local knowledge to help them thrive? We are looking for a dedicated Family Link Worker to join our team and ensure every child has the support they need - both at home and in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
• Bridge the Gap: Act as a liaison between families, school staff, and external agencies (Social Care, Health Visitors, Housing).
• Provide Support: Offer 1-to-1 support for families facing challenges such as attendance issues, bereavement, financial hardship, or medical diagnoses (e.g. managing severe allergies/SEND).
• Organise Engagement: Organise workshops and "coffee mornings" to build parental engagement and confidence.
• Advocate: Attend multi-agency meetings (EHCP, TAF, Child in Need, Child Protection) to represent the best interests of the child and their family. This also includes making referrals.
• Early Intervention: Identify concerns early and signpost families to food banks, mental health services, or debt advice for example.
• Attendance: supporting with attendance to ensure all children are in school as often as possible and there is a reduction in late attendance, working with the EWO team and attending meetings.
• Safeguarding Leadership: Serving as the Deputy Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the highest standards of child protection are maintained. This includes monitoring and managing concerns on CPOMS and reporting to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
Training and Development: Leading the delivery of relevant safeguarding training for staff 3 times a year and ensuring the entire school team has the correct procedures and knowledge in place.
• Policy and Procedure: Taking the lead in updating the school's Safeguarding Policy yearly, ensuring compliance with statutory and local South Gloucestershire guidance, and presenting a safeguarding report to the Full Governing Body (FGB) over the year.
• Support the smooth running of the school day, including taking part in lunch time support and general duties around the school.
• Any other duties requested by the Headteacher

The ideal candidate will:
• Have a proven track record of successfully supporting vulnerable children and families.
• Be knowledgeable and experienced in statutory and local safeguarding procedures.
• Possess a strong knowledge of the South Gloucestershire social care systems and local agencies (e.g., the referral pathways and multi-agency working) – this is a significant advantage.
• Be an excellent communicator, highly organised, and resilient.
• Demonstrate confidence in handling sensitive and confidential information and managing electronic systems like CPOMS.
