Your Role in Building Brighter Futures

As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice at Willowdown Primary School, you will play a key role in contributing to the delivery of Futura’s mission statement of “Building the brightest future for all, enabling every individual to flourish”. Purpose of the role of a Teaching Assistant Apprentice (see the JD for accountabilities):

You will be responsible for supporting pupils within the Trust.  The successful candidate will bring our innovative curriculum to life, as you maintain good order and discipline, engage pupils of all abilities to reach their full potential. 

What You’ll Bring to Futura:

We are looking for a motivated and inspirational apprentice teaching assistant who will:

Have a good standard of education (5 x GCSE’s – English and Maths C or above)

Have proven ability to self-study

Have proven ability to work with a range of people and children

Be confident, enthusiastic and self-motivated

Be able to supervise a group of pupils

Can plan effective play-based activities

Demonstrate a passion for creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all members of our school community

Aligns with our trust-wide values by bringing a positive, collaborative approach to their work and a willingness to continuously develop professionally

Key Information:

Start date: 1st January 2026

Hours: 32.5 hours per week Monday – Friday 0830 – 1530, which includes 1 day at college. Term Time only plus 1 week.

Contract Type: Fixed until the end of the apprenticeship – 1st July 2027.
