Futura Learning Partnership is at an exciting stage in its development. The Trust currently comprises thirteen schools with more planning to join and is moving towards its vision of being a truly inclusive provider of 4-19 education in East Bristol and Bath.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic practitioner who, under the guidance of the Director of Science, will lead science across the Wellsway and IKB campus (with a particular focus on Key Stage 4 progress). Applications are welcomed from both current postholders and ambitious teachers with a proven track record of success and the desire to be an outstanding leader. This role provides an exciting opportunity to help shape the provision of science across our schools whilst benefitting from working with practitioners across the Futura Learning Partnership to share best practice and resources.
You will need to be committed to our vision of becoming an outstanding school and to supporting the science team across IKB Academy and Wellsway School deliver consistently high standards for students of all abilities. Responsibilities will include monitoring and evaluating student progress and leading the development of teaching, learning and assessment at Key Stage 4, with particular focus on ensuring student progress in science at IKB. As a leader in our school, you will work closely with curriculum postholders from other areas in developing and improving teaching and learning and will be responsible for ensuring that every student enjoys an excellent experience across their science lessons.
If you are a highly effective teacher, able to form excellent educational relationships with students and staff and are confident at leading on the development of challenging and engaging schemes of learning, we would love to hear from you. The ability to teach all sciences to GCSE and either physics, chemistry or biology to A Level is essential and the ability to teach physics to A Level desirable.
