We are looking for an experienced teacher with a passion for Music; someone with energy and enthusiasm who is able to manage competing priorities.
- You will be the primary Music teacher for KS3 and KS4 (AQA GCSE Music).
- Working within the Futura Trust performing arts framework, you will review and revise our existing KS3 schemes of work to ensure that they are as stimulating as possible for students. You will be supported in this by the Trust’s Director of Music.
- You will coordinate extra-curricular Music groups within the school, leading rehearsals and planning performances. This is supported by other specialist and non-specialist staff within the school.
- Through engaging teaching and extra-curricular opportunities you will generate significant enthusiasm amongst Year 9 students, ensuring the continuation and growth of KS4 Music.
- You will spearhead the production of at least two school concerts per year (Christmas and Summer)
- You will coordinate peripatetic music lessons, with support from the admin team.
- You will work closely with the Drama department, working towards the reintroduction of whole-school musical theatre productions.
- As a senior member of the Creative & Media curriculum team you will support the curriculum team leader, contributing to the long-term strategy for developing Creative Arts as an area of excellence for the school.
