Contract: Term Time Only 30.4 hours per week (5 days per week)

This is an opportunity to join Saltford C of E Primary School, a thriving, supportive school at the heart of the community. The role involves supporting a named child in Year 2 with Education, Health and Care Plan to access the curriculum and to support them in working towards their EHCP outcomes.

The successful applicant will become part of the high needs team in Year 2, working with colleagues to deliver the best possible outcomes for the pupil.

We need a dedicated and skilled person to support the pupil with social communication, speech and language and social and emotional needs. Duties will include support with emotional regulation, accessing the curriculum, social skills and learning support programmes. Knowledge and understanding of Autism and sensory needs as well as an understanding of the KS1 curriculum would be an advantage.

Successful candidates will be passionate about working with children with additional needs and enjoy being part of team that supports pupils in order to help them to achieve the best academic, social and emotional outcomes.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be experienced and/or interested in SEN practices and provision with knowledge of how to meet the needs of pupils with SEN or the capacity to gain this quickly.
  • Have a great deal of enthusiasm and can motivate and inspire all pupils to engage in learning
  • Have excellent communication skills and build positive relationships with children and colleagues
  • Be flexible, proactive and positive
