Chief Finance Officer (CFO)
Salary: Grade 14 £53,724 to £59,220 per annum pro rata (actual £32,670 - £36,012)
Contract: 22.5 hours per week. 1170 hours per annum. We are open to considering a flexible working pattern—such as working additional hours during term time and taking more time off during school holidays, and remote working at times —provided that key financial deadlines are met. The appointment is permanent.

Are you a strategic and experienced finance professional looking for a key leadership role in education? Gartree High School is seeking a CFO to oversee and lead the financial management of our school, ensuring financial sustainability and supporting the school’s continued growth and success.
About the Role - As CFO, you will be responsible for:
• Leading on all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and best practices in the education sector.
• Providing strategic financial guidance to the co-headteacher and governing body.
• Managing procurement, and financial controls to ensure efficiency and value for money.
• Identifying and securing additional funding opportunities, including grants and income generation.
• Overseeing risk management and financial sustainability planning.
About You - we are looking for someone who:
• Has significant experience in senior financial roles, or holds a recognised finance qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)
• Has strong leadership and strategic financial management skills.
• Has experience working in education (desirable but not essential).
• Is proactive, detail-oriented, and confident in managing budgets and financial strategy.
• Can work effectively as part of the extended senior leadership team, contributing to the school’s overall success.
