Head of Computing

MPS/UPS plus TLR2b £5,354
Permanent post from August 2024
Full time/part time and job share will be considered

We are looking for an excellent, committed and enthusiastic teacher to inspire, challenge and support our students at this highly successful and oversubscribed High School. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to lead the Computing Department in delivering high-quality education to students.

As the Head Computing, you will be an experienced practitioner with an innovative approach to computing and the energy and ambition to drive the subject forward. We recognise that digital skills are key for our pupils and would be interested to hear from individuals who have experience in building knowledge of these on a whole school basis.

The successful candidate will have significant responsibilities in supporting the School’s Co-curricular provision to ensure excellent opportunities and support for every pupil’s enjoyment, development and success. We require someone who can provide inspirational and innovative leadership and who has clear ideas about developing learning and achieving strong results at all levels including examination level.

This post is suitable for both experienced Heads of Department, and those looking for their first Head of Department position.

We wish to appoint someone who:

• Is ambitious and determined to ensure all learners achieve and develop their full potential
• Is inspirational in the classroom and able to provide engaging and creative learning experiences for all pupils
• Is committed to assisting pupils in overcoming barriers to learning
• Has high expectations and a commitment to the wider school

In return we can offer you:

• Inquisitive, high achieving and imaginative pupils
• A supportive and friendly working environment
• State of the art premises and ICT facilities
• Excellent professional development opportunities
• Full support through other musicians within the school

If you are a creative and imaginative teacher with a good grasp of effective teaching strategies, and if you feel you would like to work among supportive and established professionals, there is a place for you at Gartree High School.

Closing date: Noon, Monday 13th May
Interviews: date to be confirmed.
