Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Start date: Autumn Term 2025
Pay Grade 8 Point 15-18 (depending on experience)
An opportunity has arisen to join our established HLTA team from August 2025. Glen Hills is a larger than average, busy, friendly primary school Glen Parva. We have dedicated staff, supportive parents and delightful children.
The roll is a permanent contract to support teaching and learning across the school. It includes elements of whole class teaching alongside some small group work and/or interventions but without the additional assessment/planning requirements of a teaching post.
Glen Hills are looking for an outstanding and passionate HLTA who:
• Has previous experience of being an HLTA or has experience of delivering lessons without a teacher being there. This will be on a timetabled and ‘ad hoc’ basis;
• Displays excellent standards of English and Maths;
• Has an excellent understanding of primary education, especially KS2;
• Can play a key role in supporting the achievement of pupils in receipt of Pupil Premium, and contribute to the delivery of intervention strategies in school;
• Has high expectations of pupil attainment, progress and behaviour;
• Has a commitment to our whole school vision and values;
• Has the skills required to be an excellent team player with a positive attitude;
• Is adaptable and flexible in their approach, due to the nature of the role.
In return we can offer:
• Excellent professional development and support;
• A friendly, caring school environment with well-behaved and motivated pupils;
• Supportive governors and dedicated caring committed colleagues;
• Employment within a successful primary based Trust.
If after looking through the personnel specification and job description you believe you are the person we need, we would be pleased to receive your application.
We encourage visits to look around our wonderful school – ideally during the school day to see our enthusiastic and engaged pupils at work. Please telephone the school office to arrange a convenient time.
Interview date to be confirmed. Candidates who have been successfully shortlisted will be notified by email and telephone shortly after the closing date.
Closing date: 7th July 2025 @ 9:00am
