Are you experienced in food technology seeking a part time role supporting in class as a Food Technician?

Your opportunity

We are looking for someone experienced in food technology to provide technical and practical support within the Food Technology Department. The role will involve ensuring kitchen equipment and ingredients are prepared ready for lessons as required. The successful candidate will have the ability to work with and support young people in their learning and development; have a background of working within the food industry and will be well organised. In this varied role, you will have the opportunity to offer practical support working with small groups of students in Food Technology practical lessons, balanced with the opportunity to work alone during periods of preparation. You will have the know how to carry out cleaning and servicing of kitchen equipment in the department to ensure safety and reliability. You will be responsible for maintaining the good order and organisation of the fridges and storage facilities; and manage ordering and stock levels of food items, equipment and resources. There may also be scope to support within the Textiles department and such an opportunity can be discussed further at interview stage.

This appointment will be a permanent contract for 10 hours per week, term time only. The actual working hours need to be completed in school however the pattern can agreed with the successful candidate. The actual starting salary will be £4,898 with an FTE equivalent of £20,500.
