Are you an inspiring Librarian looking for your next challenge?

Your Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Librarian to promote and develop the school library in order to provide an efficient resource service to students and staff. Our school library has recently benefitted from significant funding, supporting the purchase of books, specialist furniture and the introduction of Accelerated Reader, and continues to receive significant yearly funding.

With sole responsibility to manage the school library and library resources throughout the school you will work with students to enthuse and engage in their learning. Working alongside the English department, as a school, we are prioritising the development and building of a strong reading culture throughout and are keen that the successful applicant will take an active role in championing this. Additionally, we are interested in additional ways that the library can feature as part of ‘learning beyond the classroom’ curriculum through building links with local authors, booksellers, libraries and other organisations.

Daily activates will involve organising, cataloguing and classifying library resources, both electronically and print-based. Full responsibilities are detailed in the Job Description attached.

This appointment will be for 17.5 hours per week over 39 weeks of the year - term time only (including INSET days). The actual starting salary will be £7,527 with an FTE equivalent of £18,000. Working hours are 10:30-14:00 Monday to Friday, term time only (working pattern flexible during school hours for right candidate).
