Are you in search of a rewarding role supporting both teachers and students? We are looking to recruit an outstanding Science Technician who is able to ensure the efficient running of our science laboratories.

Your Opportunity

Merstham Park School is looking to appoint a conscientious and dedicated Science Technician to provide technical and learning support to teaching staff and to our students. You will assist in preparing equipment and materials and help in practical lessons. Although not essential, this could be the perfect opportunity if you're an aspiring Teacher (with the relevant experience) looking to gain experience before enrolling on to teacher training.  In addition, you may also be in a non-education setting looking to transfer and develop your skills within our rewarding school environment.

What we are looking for

We are looking for applicants that meet the following criteria:

  • Experience of working in a laboratory setting, either in an education or non education environment (training on GCSE required practical investigations can be provided on-site).
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload.
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow strict Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Good knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office programs - Excel, Word, Outlook (training can be provided).

The Details:

Working hours: 36 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Part time: Applications will be considered where the needs of the school can be met.

Pay Scale: Associate Specialist- £26,272 FTE (salary pro-rata to hours worked)
