Overview:

The Music Teacher role is an exciting addition to the Gloucester academy team.

The Department:

Music is at the heart of Gloucester Academy. Assemblies and break times are used to introduce students to a wide range of musical styles and genres, embedding a love and respect for music at the core of our school. We are looking to expand our music team as the school expands and becomes the school of choice.

You will have your own dedicated suite of rooms including a teaching space and rehearsal rooms in a centralised area. The classroom is equipped with MACs, keyboards, a visualiser, and Interactive Whiteboard and a vast array of musical instruments. We also use Soundtrap to support composition and collaboration with KS4 students.

All of our lessons are centrally created from a centralised model for T&L that embodies the Rosenshine principles and aspects of the Teach like a Champion approach. These are a starting point for you to be creative and own your curriculum. As part of a teaching team dedicated to improving the quality of our teaching, we regularly evaluate, adapt, improve or build upon pre-existing lessons to ensure they are of the best quality for our students so that  every student can climb their own personal mountain to achieve success beyond Gloucester Academy.
