Are you a Graduate who is passionate about wanting to pursue a career within teaching? Are you looking to gain some classroom based experience as a Teaching Assistant ahead of a future teaching course? If so, join us on our journey, improving and developing our caring two-form entry school, with an outstanding EYFS. The Infant and Junior schools are located on two adjoining sites in the heart of the Ottershaw community. The schools have a capacity of 460 pupils plus a 26 full-time place, on-site nursery.

We would like to employ a Teaching Assistant in the junior school for general classroom support and small group work. You will be required to work collaboratively with the class teacher to meet the needs of all pupils. This is a fixed term post which expires on 31st August 2023 with the possibility of future sponsorship at the school as a trainee teacher on the SCITT scheme.

We can offer you:

  • Term time only working hours (30.40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.45 am to 3.20 pm)
  • A salary grade of B1 to B6: FTE salary £17,833 to £19,149 pa, depending on experience
  • An actual salary of B1 £12,706 to B6 £13,643 for 30.40 hours per week, 38.6 weeks per year

The successful candidate will have: 

  • A degree and a strong desire to explore a career as a teacher.
  • Experience of working with children.
  •  An understanding of the Primary Curriculum.
