The role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Gower College Swansea for two dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our teams on a part-time, fixed-term basis, supporting students in their academic journey.

- Part-time (25 - 30 hours per week across 4 days)
- Term-time (36 weeks per annum)

- Part-time (30 hours per week across 5 days)
- Term-time (36 weeks per annum)

- £15,994 - £16,335 per annum
- Jubilee Court Campus (Fforestfach)
Vacancy C
- Part-time (25 - 30 hours per week across 4 days)
- Term-time (36 weeks per annum)
- Fixed term until 31st August 2026
- Based on 25 hours per week, the salary would be £13,329 - £13,613 per annum
- Gorseinon Campus
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide one-to-one or small group support under lecturer direction as appropriate in the classroom setting.
- To assist with the development of learners’ literacy and numeracy skills.
- To assist with the pastoral care needs of learners and to direct learners to other college support mechanisms as necessary.
- To provide learners with help in understanding oral and written instruction.
- To assist with the co-ordination of learners’ work, record keeping and progress through liaison with lecturing and support staff at all levels within the College.
About you:
- Maths and English GCSEs: A - C Grade or equivalent
- Experience of working with young people in a similar job role
- Knowledge and understanding of the needs of students with additional learning needs/learning difficulties
- Confident, resilient, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
