We are looking for a midday supervisor to ensure the safety and well-being of our primary school pupils during lunchtime, in both the dining area and the playground. You will help support staff to supervise students, assist with mealtime tasks, and address any behavioural or health issues that may arise. This role is for 7.5 hours per week term time only. Monday to Friday 11:45am-1:15pm. Salary is £4065.56 pro rata.
Key responsibilities include:
Supervision - Overseeing pupils in the dining area, playground, and other school premises to ensure their safety and well-being. Distributing lunch bands, ensuring equipment is set up/put away and the hall is left clean.
Assisting with Meals - Helping students with their meals, such as cutting up food or assisting with special dietary needs, as directed.
Behaviour Management - Encouraging positive behaviour, addressing minor interactions and reporting more serious issues to appropriate staff.
Health and Safety - Addressing minor injuries, providing comfort to upset students, and ensuring appropriate medical attention is sought when needed.
Organising Activities - Organising games and activities for students during breaks, especially during wet play.
Safeguarding - Being aware of and reporting any safeguarding concerns related to child protection or vulnerable adults.
Communication – Effective communication with children, also with teachers and other supervisors as needed.
