Wray Common Primary School is seeking to appoint a professional, organised and enthusiastic School Office Assistant to join our school office team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, parents and staff in a busy school environment and who takes pride in delivering excellent customer service and administrative support. As the first point of contact for many visitors, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and efficient school office while supporting a range of administrative, financial and pupil welfare functions.

The successful candidate will provide day-to-day reception and administrative support as part of the school's office team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a welcoming reception service for visitors, parents and telephone enquiries.
  • Supporting attendance administration and school meal arrangements.
  • Managing school dinner balances and liaising with parents regarding payments.
  • Supporting pupil welfare, including first aid administration and medication procedures.
  • Maintaining school records and assisting with systems such as Arbor and online payment platforms.
  • Processing invoices and supporting financial administration.
  • Assisting with safeguarding administration, including DBS checks and volunteer training coordination.
  • Producing routine correspondence, arranging mail and supporting general office functions.
  • Providing administrative support to ensure the effective running of the school office.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working in an office environment as part of a team.
  • Possesses excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills and can build positive relationships with children and adults.
  • Is confident using Microsoft Office applications and other ICT systems.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

In return we can offer:

  • A welcoming and supportive team environment.
  • The opportunity to make a positive difference to children's educational experience.
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • The chance to work within a successful and growing Multi Academy Trust committed to excellence and safeguarding.

Applications will be considered upon receipt, and we reserve the right to appoint someone sooner than this if we identify a suitable candidate. You are therefore encouraged to apply for the role as soon as possible. Candidates should apply via the Trust's applicant tracking system accessible via the Greensand Multi Academy Trust website.

The working days will be Monday 8.30-3.30pm, Tuesday 8.30-4.30pm, Thursday 8.30-3.30pm and Friday 8.30-4pm, 27.5 hours per week (excluding unpaid breaks) over 39 weeks per annum (term time plus one additional week).

We want to attract the broadest range of talented people to be part of our Trust. We strive to create a diverse and inclusive environment and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If you need any specific support or require alternative formats, please contact us.

Greensand Multi Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful candidate will be required to have an enhanced DBS check and an overseas criminal records check if you have lived or worked outside the UK within the last 10 years.
