Guildford Grove Primary School is looking to appoint a Clerk to the Local Academy Committee, to start in January 2024.

We are looking for a highly efficient and organised individual who is IT literate with good communication skills. The ability to work flexibly is important, as some weeks will require more hours than others.

The Clerk is required to attend all statutory meetings of the governing body, committee meetings and occasional additional meetings: full board meetings are currently held in the evening while sub-committee meetings take place during the school day. There are 6 full board meetings held each academic year, as well as other meetings throughout the academic year.

In conjunction with the Headteacher and the Chair of the LAC, the Clerk will oversee the organisation of meetings, ensure governors have relevant documentation in advance, record accurate minutes, and advise on changes in legislation, policy and governance issues. The ability to remain impartial, comply with data protection legislation and maintain confidentiality is essential.

This is an exciting time to join a thriving, recently expanded multi academy trust, whose mission is to create a love of learning in the lives of pupils, and to encourage partnership and collaboration because we achieve more when we work together.

Interested applicants are warmly invited to contact the school to discuss the role in more depth. Please contact Kathy Nott in our school office for more information.

We reserve the right to interview prior to the closing date so we would recommend that you submit your application as early as possible
