Hale School is 2 form entry Primary School, with children aged 2-11, with its own dedicated Nursery & Sure Start Children's Centre.

We are incredibly proud of our curriculum at Hale and how it has been specifically designed to meet the needs of all our learners. Our over-arching aim is to inspire a lifelong love of learning through a broad, skills based approach, within a safe, inclusive environment. We follow the highly successful Ruth Miskin 'Read Write Inc.' (RWI) Phonics programme in Year R and KS1 and the Ruth Miskin 'Literacy & Language' programme in KS2. We have recently been awarded the 'Ruth Miskin Badge' which is in recognition of the excellent practice that takes place within school.

We teach the programmes with fidelity and passion, and know what it takes to make reading and writing pleasurable and rewarding for our children. Traditionally the foundation subjects (Science, History, Geography, Art, DT, etc.) are often taught in isolation and without any direct reference to children's experiences.

We are pleased to say that at Hale School we have adopted the 'Cornerstones' approach which combines the subjects into meaningful, engaging and exciting 'projects' for the children to learn over a half term period. Our skilled staff team teach knowledge for depth and understanding, provide innovative opportunities for making and doing, enable imaginative scenarios that foster creative thinking, whilst allowing the children to develop new skills, encouraging enterprise and independent ideas. We are committed to on-going staff development and work closely with our local confederation of schools to maximize training opportunities.

The Kite Academy Trust was formed in October 2015 with five local schools coming together to provide the very best for all of our children, families and staff.
