School Standards Board Member
Collaborative board covering two Banbury Primary Schools
2 Positions Available
Instead of a traditional governing body, Hardwick and Cherry Fields Primary Schools operate a shared School Standards Board Model to whom the multi academy trust, GLF Schools, delegates authority.
We are looking for committed people from the local community, from all walks of life and backgrounds, who can share their viewpoints, experience, expertise, skills and fresh ideas.
Could this be you? Or do you know anybody who this might be of interest to?
Thrive with GLF
GLF Schools is a family of non-selective schools including Primary and secondary schools, aspiring to create a group of academies with a reputation for delivering an outstanding education for all children and students. Whilst operating as a part of a family, each school exists in its own right maintaining its unique characteristics and individual identity. Whilst all schools serve to meet the needs of the local community, all are united in their core purpose of providing an outstanding educational experience.
We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to join our School Standards Board (SSB) covering two schools. Members hold their positions for four year terms.
We are looking for keen and confident people who can help us plan the strategic direction of the schools, acting as a 'critical friend'. We are particularly interested in people with skills in collaborative working and strategic planning but more important is a willingness to get stuck in and learn as you go. Excellent training and support is provided and you don't need education experience.
As a member of the School Standards Board at a GLF School, you will help plan the strategic direction of the schools and ensure standards are being met by setting the values, aims and objectives for the schools and monitoring their progress. The SSB is the school’s accountable body and is responsible for the conduct of the school and for promoting high standards of achievement and attainment.
About Hardwick & Cherry Fields Primary Schools
Hardwick is a single form entry school with a nursery who have 200 children on roll. Having recently completed a major refurbishment of the school we now have a modern building with impressive facilities. We also have very large grounds which include a forest school area, pond, garden and two large playgrounds.
Cherry Fields is our brand new state of the art school with a nursery opening in September 2020, located on the new Belway housing estate in Banbury.
Although each school is unique and has its own characteristics, across both schools our motivation is a passion for learning. Our aim is to ensure that when children leave us, they are empowered with a love of learning, confidence through developing a strong vocabulary and an insatiable zest for life and all the wonderful opportunities that they will one day experience and have access to.
Our curriculum is posited on the theories of knowledge acquisition and reducing cognitive load. Please read all about our exciting STEAM curriculum in the curriculum sections of our website.
We believe in offering a curriculum that ensures all children benefit and learn whatever their individual challenges. We have a strong ethos and culture around our 12 school values which means that we reward and draw attention to the value rather than the outcome. We strive to achieve excellence whilst internalising respect, kindness and determination therefore growing and developing well-rounded, polite, confident, articulate and empowered children – the next generation is off to a very good start!
