With over 2000 students studying degrees at foundation, honours and postgraduate level, Hartpury presents a unique environment designed to support an outstanding student experience. We have recently invested significantly in our sport and exercise science provision including the construction of a brand new Sports Academy comprised of a human performance laboratory, biomechanics laboratory and sports therapy and rehabilitation facilities. We have a growing reputation for a unique and student-focused delivery, particularly within the field of sport.
About the Role
• You will be teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level that connects with sport psychology and coaching.
• You will have a broad sport background and ability to support general sport science modules as well deliver specialist sports psychology and coaching modules across level 4-7.
• Part of the role will be to establish and sustain industry partnerships and knowledge of this would be a distinct advantage as we look to connect out students to real world learning.
• This role requires a clear appreciation of the connectivity between theory and practice, and be able to foster industry partnerships to promote this.
• Within our sport psychology and coaching provision, we pride ourselves on preparing students to be highly skilled and informed practitioners, we would expect you to evidence such standards in their own practice.
About You
• You will have a relevant postgraduate qualification, and bring with you experience working across sport psychology and coaching.
• Your experience of working in applied context will enable you to contribute to teaching and learning activities.
• An industry recognised qualification would be a distinct advantage i.e. BPS/SEPAR, Specialist Coaching Accreditation.
• You will be committed to creating a high-quality student experience, evidenced through a focus on excellence within teaching and learning. A record of active research and knowledge exchange is welcomed but not essential.
• You will also have a clear appreciation of the connectivity between theory and practice and the ability to foster industry partnerships to develop placement links for our students
• You will be able to demonstrate a willingness to continue to develop your record of practice and scholarship.
